" ... Our daughter Indigo had very little speech when she started at Friday's Child, she has some hearing difficulties and we worried so much about how she would handle Preschool. Indigo has loved every single day she has attended and the staff are so wonderful at accommodating her needs. Laurena brings out the very best in our girl and the centre is a joy to visit each and every time ..."    Simone Leyland

"...Laurena was kind enough to have Sydney age 5 enjoy her school while visiting from Americas Montessori School Creative Minds, we truly loved our experience at Fridays Child preschool and can’t wait for my youngest to join the school, Sydney was truly sad to go back to America as she felt so welcomed and made friends from day one. Thanks you so much see you again..."

Who is this young man? Tim Potter, who attended Fridays Child a while ago - now at ADFA in Canberra and on his way to becoming an officer in The Australian Army. Many adults have litle recollection of Preschool, but it must have made an impression on Tim!

"...Our daughter attended Fridays Child Montessori Preschool for two years before commencing her Prep Year at school. From the first day of Prep, she loved the school environment and thrived on the educational experience. We believe the smooth transition from preschool to school was greatly enhanced by the curriculum and many activities she had undertaken whilst at Fridays child.
Her intellectual abilities were extended by the diversity of challenges offered within the program at Fridays Child. The Fridays Child Jolly Phonics program provided her with an excellent head start in her school reading and she continues to be above average in this area. We thank Laurena and her staff for preparing our daughter so well for school and we are now enjoying watching our son grow and develop during his time at Fridays Child..."

"Friday's Child has been a wonderful experience for my son and a massive relief for me as I found it extremely difficult to find high quality child *care* (not child minding) on the Gold Coast. The staff are caring, loving and passionate about their work. They treat children as individuals and every child is given one-on-one time, their progress (socially and educationally) is monitored and recorded each day and they are genuinely interested in helping each child develop their skills, confidence and unique personality.
Some kindies offer little more than supervised free-play all day. My son, like most pre-schoolers, has an enquiring mind and needed more than this. As well as a massive range of Montessori activities he can select from in the morning, he enjoys music/dance lessons, Jolly Phonics, computer work, small group activities and games, science and culinary experiments ... and a wonderful playground for the (still important) free-play in the afternoon.
The school is small (all children in one class) with a real family atmosphere and kids are taught to look out for each other and care for one another. My son was initially very distressed to be separated from his mum but I was very impressed at the time and care the staff gave him to help him through this - Laurena even had a box full of special toys (distractors!) to engage him and he was given a very funky little sand clock to play with at nap time to help him focus and drift off.
Another teaching assistant would sit by him and stroke his head to help him settle in nap time in the early days. We have tried a couple of other kindies on the Gold Coast, which were truly awful, and I haven't found anything quite like Friday's Child. My second child will certainly be attending in a couple of years' time. Highly recommended ..."

The family below had two children with us over four years â

And another one from our Google Places Page ...

"After working in child care myself years ago, and being a nanny - I was pretty fussy about where to send my child. I found the Friday's Child not only offers a stimulating environment, with lovely surrounds, great equipment and friendly staff - but my son comes home with the most amazing facts and stories about what wonderful things he has learnt at school. He took a while to settle in, but the staff were always there to help with his transition, no matter how long it took him - and he now enjoys going on a regular basis. I highly recommend the center for anyone that lives on the Gold Coast. This is a great place to send your kids ..."
